When should I recalibrate my Kestrel Meter's sensors?

Recalibration Recommendations:

Kestrel Humidity Sensor

  • Can drift up to +/- 2% for every 24 months.
  • This is independent of whether or not the Kestrel is being used.
  • Recommend every 2 years to stay within specs.

Kestrel Wind Sensor (Impeller)

  • Drift is < 1% after 100 hours use at 16 MPH.
  • This is dependent on usage.
  • Recommend purchase new impeller every 2 – 3 years based on usage.

Kestrel Temperature Sensor

  • Sensor will have negligible drift during the life of the product.
  • Should not need recalibration.

Kestrel Pressure Sensor

  • Sensor will have negligible drift during the life of the product.
  • Can be recalibrated in the field with a known reference source.
  • Contact NK before adjusting System Barometric Pressure however.
